Announcing: The Winners!

1st Place: Duke Gerard by Guido Gunther

Guido wins first place with this beautiful rendition of the Duke. With rich reds and yellows, brilliant and well blended golds, crisp freehand and just an overall striking appearance, this model took the top honor.

2nd Place: Duke Gerard by Sue Wachowski

Sue Wachowski takes second prize with (another) Duke Gerard! This duke also has rich, smooth reds and beautiful freehand on the shield (neat twist of having the SYMBOL in metallics, and the rest of the shield in flat color!).  Also the metallic areas are varied and yet very smoothly blended and highlighted. Add in a striking, almost "pouty" face, and you have a winner.

3rd Place: Orc Warlord by James Kennard

Third place was *very* hard to choose, but in the end I gave the nod to James' Orc Warlord entry. I think the part that stands out the most for me is the facial area. The skin tones are quite smooth and striking, and I like the pink gums and excellently shaded fangs. The armor is suitably rusted and battered looking, and the axe looks like it has been buried in many foes. Great job James!
