Blood Dragon Vampire Lord on Nightmare

No big mystery which figure this conversion was based on, eh? This is the first entry I managed to complete, and it sorta shows. It's a bit...bland to look at. Not a lot of detail. The conversion was a bit tricky, particularly the head. I had a really hard time finding an appropriate head for a Blood Dragon. Once I found it, I had to use some putty to make it look natural around the bottom where it joins Archaon's Torso. The sword is an old 40k Emporer's Champion sword.

The shield was ground down with a dremel, and half of a High Elf Dragon Horn was used to make an icon for it. The dragon icon for some reason does not like to keep paint on it - keeps chipping off despite priming and varnishing. But I think I have it licked now and the paint is staying put. |
| Wounds were added to make the horse look undead. The wounds are ground into the horses body and legs using a dremel. Then putty was added to the depressions and stippled to look like raw flesh. Once painted, gloss varnish was applied to those areas to make them look wet. You can see how one was used to obscure the inappropriate Chaos icon on the horses flank in the picture above. The horse is sorta green-black, to look like a black horse that has died. | ![]() |

I'm not sure which category this guy will end up in. Some people tell me Warhammer Large, but Steve Fuller (Dirty Steve) says Archaon/Tyrion based figs will be Warhammer Single Mini. So it's still up in the air. |
